Common Student Visa is issued to citizens of other countries who seek to enter the Russian Federation for purpose of studying at educational institutions.
It is granted on the basis of an invitation, depending on the agreement between Russian Federation and other country, issued by one of the following organizations:
- the host organization on its official letterhead,with the organization’s full reference details (a simplified form of Invitation Letter);
- by Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation (FMS of Russia);
- a visa directive sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
You should take the Invitation to the Russian consulate in your country in order to obtain an actual visa.
Documents needed for an Invitation Letter:
- A completed Application form
- Copy of your passport
P.S. All EU countries except UK, Denmark and Ireland need a simplified form of Invitation Letter.
